Happy birthday

Share

As it is my birthday, I hope you won’t mind this somewhat selfish article.

I had spent the last few weeks trying to think of what I want for this birthday. Being quarantined doesn’t help, of course, but my family will happily tell you that even normally (whatever that is), I’m a difficult person to plan a birthday for.

So, this year, as I step firmly past mid-life at forty-one, I’m going to learn to be better with myself—to be less critical, more forgiving, and a bit more self-absorbed. I’ll start by opening up with a small list of birthday wishes.

  • Buy something from me, preferably a book (my books are also available from most online bookstores)

  • Buy me a book—if you’re unsure of what kind of book, here’s my Amazon wish list
